I have a problem living in New York. I will never have a go-to spot or favorite Italian, Greek, or Sushi place. Since my list is so long and New York City is a never ending environment of new openings and closings, the desire to try a new spot whenever I eat grows at an absurd amount.
Regardless, there have been spots that I’ve noted as having some pretty bomb food, and if you do need a recommendation, I can confidently say the following as solid spots.
I’ve eaten here numerous times probably because it’s my parent’s favorite restaurant. It’s definitely their go-to and it’s a good one to have as your favorite restaurant. It’s small, quaint and intimate and the food is on point. Amazing seafood, paella, empanadas and of course mojitos.
I’ll always love this place. Marcus Samuelsson did an awesome job creating this menu. The mac & cheese, cornbread and catfish are to die for. Oh and get the donuts.
Oh god all I’m going to say is..cookies. Cookies. Cookies and I’ll truly believe I will never have a cookie as good as these. UNREAL.
I eat a lot of bagels. And I’ve tried a lot of the hot spots in NYC for bagels. Out of all of them, these are my favorite. I do however put Sadelle’s as a close second because the lox with cream cheese definitely beats Black Seed. I chose Black Seed though because of the options. More options that are a lot better then the one lox bagel at Sadelles.
These tacos though. You can lick a corner of a piece of anything in these tacos and you’ll get all the flavors. IN ONE LICK. And what is that taco shell? I still don’t know but I don’t care.
As a vegetarian I am a falafel and hummus fiend. I heard these were seriously good, then I tried them and I can confirm they are seriously good.
It was almost a tie with Dough but I had to go with Doughnut Plant. I just like the texture of their doughnuts better. They are softer and tastier. A personal opinion and there are a lot of people that will argue but I’m standing ground with the way these make me feel.
